Microsoft is reacting with short notice to the stable currency situation and adjusting the CHF prices as of 1.8.18. In particular, the following changes should be noted:
- The Azure price in CHF rise 9%
- The CHF price of the Microsoft Online Services (eg Office 365) products increase by 6%
- CHF SPLA (Microsoft Licenses on Cloud Infrastructures) will rise by 6%
What options are there?
Especially on Microsoft Azure you have the possibility to get up to 72% discount with the relatively new “Reserved Instances”. Reserved Instances are common Microsoft Azure VMs, but for a commitment to book them upfront for 1 or 3 years, you can get very high discounts on various instances. The payment is “upfront” instead of monthly “pay per use”.
